The Basic Body Course is an intensive class involving extensive hands-on work. You learn the four basic movements of MLD®. The basic strokes and their application to each of 9 body parts is taught over 5 days. You will use these movements in routines effective in treating all parts of the body. A thorough introduction to MLD® theory will be presented. The theory covers anatomy and physiology of the lymph vessel system, connective tissue, effects of MLD and contraindications. Edemas are described. Those who attend the Basic course (first of the four courses for certification as a Dr. Vodder Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist) are prepared for the Therapy I course. (Course Description) This is a Dr Vodder School International course. (Practical 32 hrs., Theory 8 hrs.) Gay Lee is an engaging and dedicated teacher who supports the learning objective with verve, energy, and genuine affection for the subject and for her students. Your class will be a positive learning experience you will never forget, and your new skills will open up a whole new low-stress manual specialty for grateful survivors.
Gay Lee Gulbrandson, CLT-LANA, CMT, Certified Dr Vodder School International teacher since 2002, annually recertified. - A deposit is required to reserve your seat.
- Reduced tuition for students repeating this course with same instructor.
Refund policy: If the student cancels in writing, received at least 30 days prior to the class start date, a refund will be sent. However, a processing fee of $35.00 will be deducted from all refunds. If a cancellation request is received after the 30 day period, the published course deposit will be kept by the school.
Discounts available: If you enroll more than 90 days in advance, deposit paid, and are registered on this site, take 5% off class fee.

Dr Vodder School International Instructor
Gay Lee Gulbrandson, a resident of Berkeley, CA, has a BA (Biology) from Beloit College, WI (1971). She is a certified MLD therapist by the Dr Vodder School International (VSNA-DVSI, 1996), and certified Basic Course teacher since 2002. Gay Lee has a thriving private practice in MLD and Combined Decongestive Therapy. Her qualifications and accreditation include certified massage therapist (1979), AMTA member (since 1988), orthopedic massage certification (Hendrickson School 1991), a member of NAVALT® (since 1995), NCBTMB exam certified (1995), NLN member (since 1996) and CLT-LANA certified (2002). Gay Lee has 2 grown sons and is happily married. She has the energy to be an innovative, dynamic and respected teacher who travels frequently to teach MLD throughout the USA. |
